How Do Non-Sexual Kinks Work?
Kink ≠ sex, they are just commonly paired together when discussed. Non-sexual kink works exactly like any type of kink play except there is no sex aspect, or at least it’s not the main motivation.
In fact, many of those who already engage in kink, do play sessions that don’t involve sex at all such as spanking, bondage or roleplay sessions. For those who engage in non-sexual kink the common incentives are the psychological and/or physical sensations of the play.
Who Are Non-Sexual Kinks For?
Anyone can engage in non-sexual kink, and many people of all orientations do. Though, it is common for sex positive/neutral asexuals to take part in it, as it can be a comfortable and enjoyable way to experience intimacy without sex (if they choose so).
Final Thoughts
Diving deep into this topic taught me a lot about my relationship with sex and kink, as in I tend to want the kink more than sex often. Which is completely fine, it just means I have some things to consider in my future approaches to intimacy.
Did you discover anything about your relationship with kink? What drives you to engage with it?
