Tamsin Baker teaches us about the importance of boundaries and balance in Stranded Domme.

“of course you can say ‘no’ to anything that doesn’t turn you on, and if you want the whole scene to finish, you have a safe word, and everything ends.”

Stranded Domme is a 2018 erotic novel written by Tamsin Baker. The story follows Natalie, a 40-year-old professional dominatrix after her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Having no other choice, she hobbles in stilettos to the nearest town where she meets potential submissive, Michael Turner. With the mechanic closed and no hotel in town, Michael offers up a room to Natalie. He gets a lot more than he bargained for when Natalie shows him her bag of toys. While having sex with Michael, Natalie quickly discovers she isn’t as in control of her emotions as she once thought.

Tamsin Baker makes a conscious effort to portray the importance of communication and boundaries in the bedroom as well as outside of it.

Natalie, our main character, excels at sexual communication, while Michael is better at emotional. These differences make for an interesting story as Michael learns to play Natalie’s game to win her over. Stranded Domme’s plot focuses on the importance of balance in a BDSM relationship and separating your sex persona from your daily persona.

Stranded Domme is worth the read. At only 86-pages, what do you have to lose? At times the writing is a tad bit on the nose, yet I still think the book has a lot to offer. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cute and kinky erotic novel.
