JO Gelato Salted Caramel Lube in snow next to caramels

You would think after trying so many awful flavored sex products that I would stop putting things in my mouth, but alas, I’m not a quitter, and I’m determined to find one that doesn’t make me barf.  And this determination is what drove me to the sex shop last week, hunting for a festive and tasty lube. I planned on picking up Wicked’s Teasers Sampler Pack; nonetheless, my store had different ideas for me when they didn’t have it. So, I ended up spending an unreasonable amount of time looking at the flavored lubes and finally decided to try JO Gelato Salted Caramel Lube.

Price & Product Details

I paid $6.99 for a 1oz bottle of Jo Gelato Salted Caramel at Adam & Eve. The price ranges on the market for about $5-$12 for the 1oz.

Jo’s Gelato line of flavors consists of a variety of different flavors such as; Creme Brulee, Mint Chocolate, Hazelnut Espresso, Tiramisu, Double Chocolate, White chocolate Razberry Truffle; and of course that one you see here Salted Carmel.

Jo Gelato Salted Caramel Lube is water-based, making it compatible with all toys! The lube is paraben & glycol free. Which in layman’s terms means it has less of a chance of irritating your good bits. It does, however, contain Glycerin (to be expected with such a sweet flavor), which may be linked to yeast infections.

Personal Experiences

I ran into the car, sanitized, and squirted a dollop of JO Gelato Salted Caramel Lube on my finger. I just had to taste it! Fucking Yum. Well, my first reaction was “ick” because, at this point, it’s a response when flavored lubes touch my tongue. Even so, after some tongue smacking to get a better taste, I turned to my partner, stuck a finger to their lips while they were driving, and said.

“That’s salted caramel!”

And then we didn’t touch the product for a week because every time we went to use it, something would come up. When we did finally get to it, I’d say the experience was decadent.

During use

I applied the lube gradually to my partner’s penis, and as with all water-based lubes, it started marvelously slippery, and then it quickly dried up. Be that as it may, because of the nature of this product, I’d say it works in its favor. If you didn’t know, when a water-based lube dries up, if you rewet it with a small amount of liquid, it will quickly get back to its slip-and-slide texture. Ergo a yummy flavor that makes my mouth drool is a must, solving the drying up quickly issue with water-based lubes (as long as you’re sucking or licking).

How it Feels on Skin

I had to try JO Gelato Salted Caramel Lube multiple times on my skin before I felt comfortable doing this part of the review. Why you may ask? Because I couldn’t believe I tried a lube that didn’t make me run for the hills. I find that most lube makes me feel murky, muggy, and dirty long after the sex is done. I assumed that Gelato’s Salted Caramel would be the same, especially considering it contains glycerin. I’m pleasantly surprised to say I was wrong to assume.

No, it doesn’t feel completely tackless at all times; even still, it feels pretty damn clean. Instead of staying tacky like similar products, the Gelato Salted Caramel Lube leaves a lotion feel to the skin almost as if you applied moisturizer. I do find it dries better on body parts that don’t sweat; my hands stayed sticky until I washed them, while my body felt clean and soft with no cleaning.

Final Thoughts

I have found yet another savior. Much like the Shane’s World Sparkle Vibe, which restored my faith in vibrators, JO Gelato Salted Caramel Lube has restored my interest in lubricants. When the flavor hit my tongue, I was impressed, and then it blew me away with its tackless feel. JO has given me a new motivation to continue my journey through lubes. Before this, I held lubes to an; it only kinda tastes like meds standard, that is no longer the case. This product has set a standard, and the bar has been raised.
